KTM 640 Adventure (1997-2007)
If you’re used to smooth riding, civilized singles like BMW’s F650 range then KTM’s 640 Adventure will come as something of a shock. It’s very vibey, absurdly tall, not that comfortable and pre-2004 models suffer from patchy engine reliability. Having said that in the muddy side of its dual-purpose role it’s untouchable for handling, presence and rugged toughness.
KTM 990 Adventure R
KTM likes to diversify their model range so we’re dealing with a base 990 Adventure model and a 990 Adventure R, both bikes being built around the same 999cc, twin-cylinder, four-stroke, V 75-degree engine that is tuned to provide the rider with 104.6 hp at 8,250 rpm and 100 Nm at 6,750 rpm on the standard model while the 113.31 hp at 8,750 rpm and also 100 Nm at 6,750 rpm on the “R” model are claimed to provide a healthier rush all through the rev range.

A Kraftfahrzeuge Trunkenpolz Mattighofen egy 1934-ben alapított, osztrák, fémmegmunkálással foglalkozó cég. A vállalat csak 1954-ben kezdett motorkerékpárokat gyártani KTM Sportmotorcycle AG néven. A márka elsősorban off-road motorkerékpárjairól ismert, de az utóbbi néhány évben már utcai motorokat is gyártanak.
